Jonathan King

Jonathan King

Jonathan has been studying Wudang Tai Chi Chuan for 9 years and has been qualified to teach since April 2007, when he gained a Level 4 certificate - HUI Intermediate Instructor. He has a great passion for the art and this shows in the amount of time and effort he places into research, training and commitment to his classes. He is extremeley interested in Chinese martial arts, the history behind these and and the complex topic of qi or Chi, which is utilised in most of these arts.

Jonathan has been taught by 3 separate Wudang Tai Chi teachers, in Nottingham, over the 9 years and has also gained knowledge from their teacher, Dan Docherty, who is the founder of Practical Tai Chi Chuan International. He is well travelled and has attended Tai Chi classes in Australia, during a career break, where he gained insight into different tai chi styles. His love of all things Chinese spurred him into taking up Mandarin lessons, when back in the UK, which he gained a level 1 certificate. When time permits he hopes to continue the Mandarin lessons.
